Mia Roldan is a Mom of two sons, a wife of 30 years, and a firm believer that at the core of every individual are the building blocks for resiliency. She has witnessed this over and over in her work with children, adolescents, families and young adults in Austin Texas since 1996, first as a Special Education teacher and now as a psychotherapist.
Her journey to become a proponent for resilience began as a child who endured years of trauma, separations and many types of loss. Over the years Mia also encountered genuine love, became a part of many different families, and has received honest kindness for just being herself. Her story is evidence that the circumstances that create our life do not have to define us as a person.

Mia has worked with hundreds of people in her career, and what she believes is that we all share the anguish of losing something integral to our identity many times throughout our life, whether it's a person, a relationship, a dream, or an expectation. And as much as the specifics of these losses cause us pain, these moments are fundamental to our vitality and development. Mia can help you to find and foster your authenticity, your courage and even your hope. It’s a choice we always have, to heal and to grow.
For more than twenty years, Mia has looked for opportunities to reach people and share her story, her knowledge and her understanding of how to find the gifts in grief and loss. She is so grateful that she’s been able to do this as an author and as a speaker. Her passion and determination has never wavered since she was a young girl. There is healing and solace in connection, belonging, and acceptance.
